Another MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase – Snoopy Goes New Moon
If you looked closely at the teaser on February 19th, you saw Snoopy holding a cake with two candles — a white one and a black one. A few of you guessed it right in the comments of the introduction of the white MoonSwatch Snoopy. The black edition was still a surprise to others until the teasers showed up a few days ago.
MoonSwatch New Moon
The white MoonSwatch Snoopy — officially, the MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase, is charming and was received well by MoonSwatch fans. Some, including yours truly, even thought it was the best version. The surprise effect the original MoonSwatch series had two years ago was not the same, nor were the queues, but the interest and demand were high nonetheless.
All-black MoonSwatch Snoopy
However, you will still need to queue up whenever there’s a new MoonSwatch. That’s just a part of it that you must be willing to deal with. The good news I received from several Swatch boutiques is that the MoonSwatch models from the previous series are now more available and that they (most of the time) have one specific model in stock.
This New Moon version has in an all-black color scheme and will become available on April 8th in the same selected Swatch boutiques as the previous model. Importantly, it’s limited to only one per customer, per day, and per Swatch store. And you’d better have a spot in the front of the queue because we learned that Swatch boutiques sometimes only had 20 pieces of the white Snoopy MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase.
UV light recommended
If you missed the white MoonSwatch Snoopy edition, the moonphase display has a Snoopy comic character on the crescent moons. When using a UV light supplied by some Swatch boutiques, you will see the stars, crescent moons, and a hidden quote, “I can’t sleep without a night light!” light up in blue. The hands and hour markers have an application of Super-LumiNova and turn green in low-light conditions.
Same specifications as the white MoonSwatch Snoopy
All specifications are like those of the white MoonSwatch Snoopy version, including how the wearer can correct the moonphase complication via the crown and the pusher at 4 o’clock. The MoonSwatch New Moon comes on a black Velcro strap with an attachment loop in black Bioceramic. Pricing and availability
I still favor the all-white MoonSwatch Snoopy, but some of my colleagues seem to prefer this new edition in black. It will come out when I am in Geneva next week for Watches and Wonders. Who knows? I might give it a shot at the local Swatch boutique there. I do fear that I will need a tremendous amount of luck, though!
As written above, the MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase New Moon will be available on April 8th at selected Swatch stores globally. This model’s reference number is SO33B700, and it will have a retail price of €315 / US$310. You can find more information via the Swatch website.
