Andreas Ahrens
Andreas calls Hamburg, Germany, home. He had a career in software development and was a Quality Manager in the mobility sector. Today Andreas is responsible for organizational development in childcare. His first mechanical watch was a Mortima dive watch his parents gave him after completing his first scuba dive course in 1984. In 2004 he started to develop an ever-growing passion for watches. The largest part of Andreas's watch collection consists of dive watches. As Andreas is a diver, dive watches effectively are watches for diving to him, not just sportive accessories with a maritime touch. Other watches that arouse his interest are such with complicated movements, preferably finished by hand. But Andreas also enjoys watches that simply expose a beautiful or extraordinary design. Next to watches, Andreas also collects spiny trilobites. He is also passionate about making electronic music or playing African percussion and wildlife photography, mainly underwater.
