Following the excellent British Watchmakers’ Day in March is the Best of British Watches event in Brighton on Saturday, the 7th of September, 2024. The bustling Brighton seafront’s Old Ship Hotel will host the event in the spacious Paganini Room from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

This year is not short of exciting watch events in the UK. Many regions are covered, from the aforementioned British Watchmakers’ Day in London this past March to the upcoming Manchester Watch Show in the north. For the South Coast, there is the Best of British Watches event, which celebrates exquisite craftsmanship and timeless elegance in all price ranges. This showcase of British watchmaking covers many bases, from classic designs to modern innovations. This makes it a must-visit for watch enthusiasts and collectors alike. The brands attending will be Beaucroft Watches, Christopher Ward, Duckworth Prestex, Edward Christopher, Farer, Fears, Isotope, Pinion, Schofield, Studio Underd0g, and Zero West.

Sharing the horological passion

In addition to the watch brands’ stands, there will be a Q&A in the adjacent room. Host Scarlett Baker, watch editor and writer for Wonderland, Man About Town, British GQ, and Highsnobiety, will guide us through your burning questions. Whether you’re interested in the state of the market or horological innovations, I’m sure we all have interesting questions about this fascinating hobby. You’ll also have a chance to chat with the brand owners and representatives. Furthermore, this event will be an excellent opportunity to try on watches only sold online. Some of you may even go home with a prize thanks to the various competitions throughout the day.

As with any public event, only take what you are comfortable with. That may mean one watch on your wrist or even no watch at all. Choose what is best for you, not what you think others expect you to bring. Check the event page here for further details on how to attend.
