Fratello Readers’ Choice For The Best Watch Of 2024: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White Dial
Last week, in the year’s final episode of Fratello Talks, RJ, Lex, and Nacho presented their favorite watches of 2024 to you under six predetermined categories. In the episode’s accompanying article, there was a poll through which you, dear Fratelli, could vote for your favorite watch among the 18 nominees. After a week of voting, it’s time to unveil which watch takes home the honor of being the Fratello readers’ choice for the best watch of 2024!
The watch that won the competition did so with an impressive 26% of the votes. That’s impressive indeed because number two got 11%, while number three earned 9%. All right, without further ado, here’s the top three of your favorite watches of 2024. Coming in third place is the Omega Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified. In second place is the impressive IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar. But the Fratello readers’ choice for the best watch of 2024 is the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with a white dial.
Fratello readers’ choice for the best watch of 2024: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with a white dial
Of course, your choice was limited by the options given to you by RJ, Lex, and Nacho. But I somehow feel the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with a white dial would’ve won anyway. It’s funny how a simple change of color for the dial can result in such a different-looking watch. It was even more surprising to see how positively it was received.
The designers at Omega did a great job inverting the colors on the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional’s dial. In addition, the red “Speedmaster” text makes it slightly more sporty and feels like a chef’s kiss on the otherwise sterile-looking dial. This all results in a different-looking Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, but it feels very familiar at the same time. That’s probably the main reason it got so many votes with the Speedmaster-loving community here on Fratello.
I’m glad the impressive IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar took second place, though. This means there are still many people out there who appreciate innovation and complications in today’s mechanical watches.
The Omega Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified in third place shows that many of us would’ve liked to be a pilot. The great thing about this watch is that you can imagine being one whenever you look at your wrist.
Winners in other categories
Let’s also take a look at the winners in the individual categories. Of course, the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional with a white dial also dominated the Sports & Tool category. The IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar did so in the Complicated category, but the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen” wasn’t far behind with 8% of the votes.
In the Dress category, Daniel Roth took the win with the lovely Tourbillon Rose Gold.
In the Newcomer category, there was a tie between the beautiful Berneron Mirage 34 Tiger Eye and the exquisite Echo/Neutra Rivanera.
The Piaget Polo 79 went home with the prize in the category for best Iconic/Classic watch.
Finally, the Parmigiani Toric collection, especially the Petite Seconde model, was the most surprising release of the year.
