Fratello Talks: Our Vintage Watch Wishlists
Hello, and welcome to Fratello Talks! Today, Nacho, RJ, and Thomas share their vintage watch wishlists. As you can imagine, these guys spend a lot of time thinking about watches. But when they’re not writing about the latest releases, they’re often lusting after (and hunting down) vintage watches online. It’s a hazard of the job. Today, inspired by RJ’s latest object of desire, the guys lend you insight into the timepieces on their current lists of vintage (and neo-vintage) favorites. But before we get to that, let’s see what’s on their wrists today.
Wrist check
We kick things off with RJ, who is wearing his Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 50th Anniversary LE. Though he hasn’t worn this one on the podcast for a little while, we can confirm that not a week goes by when it’s not on his wrist at least once. And can you blame him?
Thomas is proudly representing his brand VPC with the Type 37HW in Dove Grey on his wrist. When you own a watch brand, you wear the watch you make — it’s that simple! We’ll put in a request for him to at least change the color next time he’s on, but for now, you know what to expect to find on Thomas’s wrist.
Speaking of vintage watches, Nacho is wearing his 1961 Omega Seamaster ref. 14762. With the original beads-of-rice bracelet, it has all the right jangly old-school vibes and plenty of character from its perfectly caramelized dial. Certainly not the only vintage piece in his collection, this Seamaster is a perfect example of vintage value as one can be had for well under the €1,000 mark.
Fratello Talks: Our Vintage Watch Wishlists
As we mentioned before, constantly being on the lookout for great vintage watches is par for the course of being a part of the watch media. It’s not an addiction that affects everyone with as much intensity, but Nacho, RJ, and Thomas are all hooked. Today, they take some time to blow up the spot on some of the watches they’ve had in the crosshairs lately. Although some of their picks have been on the list for quite some time, others are more recent infatuations. We won’t give it away here, so if you want to know more, tune in and listen to the episode.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you. What vintage watches have caught your eye recently? Is there one specific model that you’ve been on the hunt for? Leave your stories in the comments section below.
