Hello, and welcome to this latest episode of Fratello Talks! Today, Nacho, RJ, and Thomas discuss some of the best watch bracelets, looking at every element that goes into one, from end link to clasp. There’s nothing worse than a bracelet that feels cheap or like an afterthought. The way you fasten it to your wrist is truly an important part of any great watch. And, as opposed to straps, which are ultimately “disposable” products, a bracelet feels much more like an integral part of the watch as a whole. In this episode, the guys take a look at examples of great bracelets from Rolex, Tudor, Omega, and more. Thomas even lends us some of his insights from having recently worked on designing and producing a watch for his brand, VPC. We cover all the stops, from the shape of the end links and integration to clasp size, micro-adjust, and sizing systems. But before we do that, it’s time for a wrist check.

We start with RJ today, who is wearing his Omega Speedmaster Calibre 321 “Ed White” on the OEM bracelet, of course. Though he sometimes mixes things up, RJ is adamant that the best way to wear a Speedmaster is on a steel bracelet (or a gold one in the case of his Apollo 11). And though it’s an incredibly versatile watch, his Speedy 321 is rarely separated from its lovely flat-link bracelet.

Unsurprisingly, Thomas is still batting for his home team with the VPC Type 37HW on his wrist. Unlike in previous appearances, he’s wearing the Forest Green variant. It’s a relevant pick for this episode as the watch comes on a bracelet that Thomas painstakingly worked on. You’ll hear about it in more detail throughout the episode.

Finally, Nacho has his Omega Seamaster 300M ref. 2254.50.00 on his wrist. Of the three Fratello team members on today’s show, Nacho is the least keen on bracelets. He does acknowledge the appeal, but his experience with neo-vintage (mainly Breitling and Omega) bracelets has not exactly led to an affinity for them. So, more likely than not, you’ll spot him sporting his watch on a NATO, rubber, or leather strap.
