Fratello Talks: Watch Wishes And Predictions For 2024

Welcome to the first episode of Fratello Talks of 2024. We hope that the new year has been treating you well so far and that you’re as excited as we are to kick off this second season of the podcast. Here at Fratello HQ, we decided to tackle the new year head-on, discussing our watch wishes and making predictions for what we’ll see over the coming 12 months. You join your host Nacho alongside Morgan and Lex, who voice their expectations and wishes for the new year. From educated guesses to wild predictions, the guys have the bases covered. And who knows? Maybe some of their wishes just might come true before the year is up! But before we get into it, it’s time for the first wrist check of 2024.

Wrist check

We kick the year off with Lex, who is wearing his big, bold, and brightly glowing Chronoswiss Timemaster. This lume-dialed 44mm watch is certainly not one you see every day. With its oversized onion crown, long, straight lugs, and deeply ridged bezel, it’s certainly a statement piece. For Lex, though, it’s one that he can’t get enough of. On a custom green leather strap from ABP, it’s never far from returning to his wrist.

Up next, Morgan is wearing something from IWC. To be precise, it’s the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Mojave Desert (ref. IW389402), which was in the office for a recent review. Morgan has been keeping a keen eye on some of the latest pieces from the Schaffhausen brand. Though he appreciated the reduced size of the 41.9mm Mojave, it’s the Mark XX that he’s truly smitten by. Will he be adding something from IWC to his collection in 2024? Only time will tell!

And finally, Nacho, who you might expect to be wearing a particular Omega dive watch, shocks us with a big ol’ Breitling on his wrist. He had his eye on this 44mm Breitling Avenger chronograph (ref. E13360) since the early days of his watch enthusiasm, and only recently did he find a deal too good to pass up. So now he has added this titanium monster to his flock. This being his second Breitling piece officially makes him a Breitling collector (according to RJ, at least). It ticks a lot of boxes for Nacho, an admirer of functional tool watches, who finds this 300m-water-resistant Avenger to be just as capable of a dive watch as it is a pilot’s chronograph.

As we roll into the new year, we can’t help but feel excited for what it will bring. Not only do we have plenty of exciting plans for the show, but we expect brands will also have an ace or two up their sleeves. Only time will tell, but today, the Fratello Talks crew has a bit of a think on what they might expect. They also express some wishes for what they would each like to see, running through a list of brands, including Rolex, Tudor, Breitling, Omega, and many more.
