Hands-On: The New Pink Gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds
For Watches and Wonders 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre decided to go big with its Reverso collection once more. Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced this watch meant for polo players nearly a century ago. Today, however, watch enthusiasts and collectors consider the Reverso a dress watch more than anything else. With the latest Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in full pink gold on a matching mesh bracelet, it’s easy to see why.
The Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold
I’ve tried a Reverso on my wrist many (many!) times. Jaeger-LeCoultre has sent us various models to review, but I also tried ones that friends and colleagues bought for themselves. I love the Reverso, but it is often on someone else’s wrist that I appreciate it most. How come? I have no idea. For a long time, I thought it was its rectangular shape, but I can’t say this with full certainty. I always admired it from a distance, so to speak.
It’s undoubtedly an iconic watch that has aged well since it came out in 1931. The Tribute series pays homage to that first model and debuted back in 2011 for the Reverso’s 80th anniversary. As you probably know, there were some interruptions in the timeline of the Reverso, but ever since the 1980s, it’s been back in full swing and has even become the brand’s signature watch.
Visiting Jaeger-LeCoultre pre-Watches and Wonders
A few weeks ago, I traveled to the Jaeger-LeCoultre headquarters in Le Sentier and met with (recently returned) CEO Jérôme Lambert and the product team. Trays with the new Reverso collection were on the table, with all the watches under strict embargo. Two Reverso models stood out most to me — the Reverso Tribute Geographic and this Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold on a Milanese bracelet.
I noticed that I kept grabbing the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold. The Milanese bracelet, crafted following the traditional method, felt so nicely made. According to Jaeger-LeCoultre, the origins of this bracelet style date back to the 13th century in Milan. Only centuries later did Milanese bracelets become popular for watches, of course, and the style hit a big stride in the 1970s. The Milanese links are made from two threads of precious metal twisted together to get this double layer of small, interlocking links.
Full pink gold
I never thought the Reverso would look so good on a Milanese bracelet. Additionally, Jaeger-LeCoultre crafted this watch out of 18K pink gold, including the dial, which makes it even better. The pink gold dial has a grained finish, and the polished hands and hour markers are also made of pink gold. Except for the movement, sapphire crystal, and gaskets, this is an all-pink-gold watch!
As for the dimensions, the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold (ref. Q713216J) measures 27.4mm wide, 45.6mm long, and just 7.56mm thick. It’s a perfect size for my 18cm wrists. The sizes of the Reverso have been all over the place, as Jorg explained in his Reverso article from a few weeks ago (here).
Milanese bracelet with integrated sliding clasp
Although I love the pink gold case and dial, the Milanese bracelet truly makes this watch stand out. It does not need to be sized (like in the old days); you just slide one part of the bracelet through the clasp under the other part. The bracelet is thin enough that you do not notice the double layer on one side. Jaeger-LeCoultre refers to this as its “integrated sliding clasp.”
Jaeger-LeCoultre uses its hand-wound caliber 822 for this new Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds. It has a power reserve of 42 hours and ticks at 21,600vph. It’s only 2.93mm thick, which helps to keep the case of this new Reverso so slim.
Some thoughts on the new Reverso in pink gold
Trying this Reverso in pink gold sparked my interest in owning one. You see, tastes can change (or evolve) over time. Jaeger-LeCoultre says this watch is not a limited edition but that production will be limited due to manufacturing capacity and resources, as with all Reverso models.
I am sure this pink gold Reverso Tribute on the Milanese bracelet is not for everyone, nor should it be. Whether you fancy this pink gold model or not, it is a talking piece, and that’s what the Reverso deserves.
The new pink gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds ref. Q713216J has a retail price of €44,800 (including taxes). You can find more information on the official Jaeger-LeCoultre website.
