Hot Take: Living “La Vie En Rose” With The New Blancpain × Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean
Last January, Swatch introduced the crowd-pleasing, all-black Scuba Fifty Fathoms Ocean of Storms. Just one month ago, in early December, the Blue Lagoon model made its debut. In 2025, Swatch is looking at life through rose-tinted glasses as it introduces this latest iteration in the SFF lineup. Meet the bright and bold Blancpain × Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean.
We often ask ourselves, “Will we see new MoonSwatch or Scuba Fifty Fathoms models? What will the folks at Swatch come up with next?” And though the pace has certainly slowed down recently, you can’t fault the brand for its lack of fear of trying new things. In January 2024, the FFS entered its emo phase with the blacked-out Ocean of Storms. This model became the most popular and sought-after version of the Blancpain × Swatch collaboration. Then, after a relatively long period of radio silence, the Blue Lagoon made a splashing debut just before the year’s end. Now, after blue, it’s time to go pink. And yes, if you were wondering, there’s a nudibranch for that! Today’s release bears the likeness of the Ceratodoris rosacea on its case back. This ocean-dwelling alien creature — much like every nudibranch I’ve ever seen — looks like a real-life Pokémon.
Blancpain × Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean
The bold new Blancpain × Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean employs a balanced blend of pink and magenta hues to create its distinctive livery. It takes the various pink-colored bodies of water found across our planet as inspiration. There are also some subtle white details to prevent it from becoming overly monochromatic. But other than its new rosy guise, it’s the same SFF we’ve known for a couple of years.
It features the usual 42.3mm Bioceramic case with a 48mm lug-to-lug. It stands 14.4mm thick and is rated water resistant to 91 meters (300 feet, or 50 fathoms). It’s equipped with a unidirectional 60-minute bezel and boasts a brightly glowing application of Grade A Super-LumiNova on its hands, dial, and bezel insert. The watch is powered by Swatch’s signature Sistem51 movement. You can read all about the movement and its manufacturing process here.
One final detail is that, like last year’s Blue Lagoon, this Bioceramic diver replaced the original one-piece strap with a stripey pink and white two-piece (made from recycled fishing nets). It’s a beach-ready option that’s certainly not for those afraid to add some flare to their look with a not-so-subtle dash of color. Price-wise, you’re looking at the usual €400 / US$400. This latest model will be available as of February 1st at Swatch boutiques near you. So, if you need a little help living la vie en rose this year, you know that Swatch has you covered.
