IFL Watches Introduces The Oris Divers 65 Boogeyman And Aeroman With Hand-Painted Dials
Stockholm-based IFL Watches has been knocking out one customized release after another. The company’s watches contain dials that are painted by hand, a process that takes time and demands great respect. For its newest releases, IFL Watches brings the Oris bear back to the dials of two special versions of the Oris Diver Sixty-Five “Cotton Candy.” The Oris Divers 65 Boogeyman celebrates Christmas with a nice hint to a famous movie, and the Oris Divers 65 Aeroman celebrates the colorful Cappadocia Festival, where hundreds of hot air balloons create a visual spectacle in the Turkish sky. They join the IFL Watches Oris Divers 65 Candyman to complete a whimsical trio of watches.
In the last 12 months, IFL Watches has shown that creativity can lead to unique results. The company has customized watches from G-Shock, Seiko, Tissot, Timex, and Oris. My favorites are the sky-inspired Tissot PRX models. The special hand-painted dials achieve a unique look and feel of traveling through the universe thanks to the technique of abstract pointillism.
The new Oris Divers 65 Boogeyman and Aeroman
However, the artists working at IFL Watches have shown that there are more creative ways of customizing dials. As you might know, earlier this year, IFLW customized an Oris Diver Sixty-Five “Cotton Candy” for its Candyman model. As Thomas explained, the watch was inspired by the Candyman character from “The Forbidden” by Clive Barker, which led to a series of Candyman slasher movies. The watch featured the Oris bear on the dial as the Candyman. After that, IFLW decided to add two new more customized versions to its portfolio. On both dials, the Oris bear returns as the star of the show.
For the new Boogeyman and Aeroman versions, the stainless steel Oris Divers Sixty-Five “Cotton Candy” once again proves to be the perfect canvas. These models are instantly recognizable thanks to their full-steel aesthetic in combination with colorful dials in pink, blue, and green. Completing the retro-inspired look is a stainless steel bracelet with real rivets.
Regarding specs, the Oris Diver Sixty-Five “Cotton Candy” has a 38mm stainless steel case that is 12.8mm thick and measures 45.7mm from lug to lug. It is water resistant to 100 meters, and under its solid stainless case back, Oris uses its caliber 733. Based on the Sellita SW200-1, this automatic movement operates at 28,800vph and has a 38-hour power reserve.

But let’s be honest: for these new models, it’s not about the specs. The hand-painted dials are the main attraction here. When creating them, IFLW balances the base dial and the added design. This balance has to ensure that the visual impact starts from far away and only becomes more intriguing and detailed as you come closer. For both models, IFLW kept the idea of placing the Oris bear in different candy-themed situations.
The first of the two new models is the Oris Divers 65 Boogeyman. As you can see, the Oris bear is now green and intent on interrupting Christmas. He is taking off with a bag of presents on his back. It is a clear reference to the movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The soft pink base dial is customized by adding a large Christmas tree standing in the snow with candy canes and presents scattered around it. The combination of white, red, green, blue, yellow, and pink makes the dial pop.
The Oris Divers 65 Aeroman
The second model is the Oris Divers 65 Aeroman. This seafoam-green Cotton Candy dial is customized by putting the Oris bear in a hot air balloon floating through a sky filled with candy clouds. The world-famous Cappadocia Balloon Festival inspired this dial. You have probably seen pictures of hundreds of balloons in the Turkish sky against the background of the unique Cappadocian landscape of volcanic rocks. The images are colorful and mesmerizing, and Cappadocia has long been on my list of places to visit.
For the dial of the Aeroman, the artists at IFLW put the Oris bear in a blue and yellow balloon. Another red and yellow balloon accompanies it, both of them floating through the air filled with candy clouds. As a result, the dial is fun to see. From a distance, it only communicates the bright colors. But as soon as you get closer, all the details reveal themselves.
Pricing and availability of the IFLW Oris Divers 65 Boogeyman and Aeroman
IFL Watches will only make 25 pieces of each of these two special editions. They complete a trio of watches that put the Oris bear in different candy-related situations, befitting the nickname of these Oris models. I love the Christmas-themed Boogeyman as it fits the current season perfectly. On top of that, it’s coincidentally relevant to me as I just happened to see parts of the original 1966 movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas while my girlfriend was watching it with her son.
However, the Oris Divers 65 Aeroman is not tied to a specific season, making it easier to wear all year round. Whichever you prefer, the creativity and dedication that went into creating these hand-painted pieces shows in the result. On top of that, I do understand why people love IFLW’s customized pieces. They are like street art on a watch dial, and they work very well in that context. I believe IFLW will have no issues selling all 25 pieces of the Boogeyman and Aeroman for €3,490 each. All pieces are individually numbered. The Boogeyman has its unique number in the snow, while the Aeroman has the number on the red and yellow balloon. These two models make for a great start to this year’s holiday season.
If you want to buy one of these specially customized watches, they go on sale later today at 16:00 CET on the IFL Watches website. In the comments section, let us know which of these two versions is your favorite.
