The story of the new Oris Divers 65 Year of Snake LE
Officially, the Chinese New Year started on January 29th, 2025. However, unlike in Western culture, the festivities are not limited to one day but to almost two weeks full of celebrations. With today’s Lantern Festival, the festivities officially come to an end. Because we have entered a new year, it also means the start of the Year of the Snake. As most of you will know, each year is associated with one of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. Last year was the Year of the Dragon, and this year is the Year of the Snake. In Chinese astrology, the Year of the Snake brings fortune and strategic brilliance, marking times of thoughtful progress and artistic growth. The dial of this special Divers 65 celebrates that in proper style.
The Oris Divers 65 is the perfect canvas for the Year of Snake limited edition. The team at IFLW chose the 38mm Oris Divers 65 Cotton Candy, which comes with a stainless steel bezel, to create a neutral backdrop for a dial that pops. On it, a golden serpent slithering through jade-colored grass takes center stage against a crimson sky. On the top left, you will see the Moon, and on the top right, you see the cherry blossoms, reflecting the cycle of the different seasons.
The Oris Divers 65 Cotton Candy is the perfect canvas
At first glance, this is a normal Oris Divers 65 Cotton Candy with a bespoke dial. But look again because there is more to it. As you can see at the top of the dial, the Oris logo is replaced by the characters 发财 (fā cái), blessing the wearer with prosperity and fortune. To contrast the colorful artwork and maintain readability, each of the hour markers is white. On top of that, the lume-filled stainless steel hands ensure the time is still easy to read. Lastly, the date window at 6 o’clock features a white disc with black numerals and matches the hour markers nicely. As all of the 25 dials are painted by hand, each one of the watches is unique.
The Oris Divers 65 Cotton Candy features a 38mm stainless steel case that is 12.8mm thick and measures 45.7mm from lug to lug. As mentioned, the vintage-inspired diver features a unidirectional stainless steel bezel, and it’s also water resistant to 100 meters. The Divers 65 Cotton Candy comes standard with a blue, green, or pink dial. But only the last color served as the canvas for this new limited edition. The pink base shade makes it easier for the IFLW artists to create this predominantly red customized dial.

Inside the stainless steel case, Oris equips the watch with its Sellita SW200-1-based caliber 733. The automatic movement has 26 jewels and offers 41 hours of power reserve. As shown, the watch comes on a three-row riveted bracelet with a folding clasp.
