Introducing a New Omega Seamaster 300M Diver ‘007’
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is the 10th novel in the James Bond series and the 6th movie about the British spy. For this 1969 movie, George Lazenby played 007 and faced Blofeld (again).
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the On Her Majesty’s Secret Service film, Omega introduces a special version of the Seamaster 300M Diver. This limited edition is based on last year’s introduced Seamaster 300M model that has a long history with Bond. Since 1995, Omega has its relationship with James Bond, with the Seamaster 300M 2541.80 (quartz) and 2531.80 (automatic) references on the wrist of Pierce Brosnan as Bond. Even though in recent movies Bond was wearing a Seamaster Aqua Terra and Planet Ocean, the 300M made its way back to James Bond. And we’re pretty pleased with that! Not that we don’t like the Planet Ocean that was used in previous Bond movies, but for us, the 300M is the Omega that is the Bond watch.
Omega Seamaster 300M Diver ‘007’
This watch comes with several special features for the Bond fans. The dial has a gun barrel design, something we’ve seen before on the limited edition Bond models, but this time it is a black PVD spiral-brushed dial. With a 9mm bullet head at the center of the dial.
On the dial, we also find the use of 18-carat gold for the hands and indexes. The index at 12 o’clock consists of the coat-of-arms of the Bond family, previously used as dial motif on one of the limited edition Aqua Terra ‘Bond’ models. On the 10 o’clock index, you will find the number ’50’, but only when illuminated. On the case band, you’ll find a gold plate engraved with the unique number (of 7007 pieces). On the date disc, there’s a ‘7’ in the typography of the Bond movies. It is all about the details.
The 42mm diameter Seamaster 300M Diver comes on a rubber strap and is delivered in a beautiful black box with gun barrel patterns and bullet head buttons to open it. Of course, like all 300M Divers of the new generation, this watch is Master Chronometer certified. This means that it can withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and has an accuracy of 0-5 seconds on average per day. Oh, and of course it has a water resistance of 300 meters. Very Bond-worthy.
We love the new 300M and not too long ago, I wrote that it is one of the nicest all-rounder watches I’ve worn in a long time. That article was about the steel version with black dial and bezel with a touch of Sedna gold, but the specifications are not different from today’s introduced Seamaster 300M Diver ‘007’ model.
This Omega Seamaster 300M Diver ‘007’ that commemorates 50 years since On Her Majesty’s Secret Service has a retail price of CHF6450,- Swiss Francs including taxes. The watch will be available as of today. In the box, you will also find a stainless steel bracelet and a changing tool. Furthermore, Omega put in a travel pouch in Bond-style.
