SIHH 2014 Parmigiani Fleurier Métro – For Urbanites With a True Metropolitan Spirit
The SIHH 2014 in Geneva will start tomorrow and Fratellowatches will be there to bring you the latest news with our own photos and stories! We also recently opened our Press Release section on our website, so you also will be able to read the official press release information that we receive from brands. However, we will of course continue bring you our unique content as well like you are used to from us.
Today we received the pre-SIHH 2014 news on the Parmigiani Fleurier Métro collection. Not too long ago we paid a visit to the Parmigiani HQ and production facilities and we were more then impressed. Our photo report of that visit can be found here. The Métro collection is their latest introduction and covers both men’s and women’s timepieces.
The women collection goes by the name of Tonda Métropolitaine and the men’s watches are referred to as the Tonda Métrographe. As Parmigiani puts it: “For the wrists of busy city dwellers, as they live and breathe every minute of the day”. The Métrographe is a chronograph that comes in two versions, a black dial watch and a grained white dial watch. Both are available with either a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
We already love the white grained Métrographe with the tan brown calf leather strap by Hermès. The black dial version has a pair of bright SuperLumoniva sub dials for the hour and minute counters. The grained white dial version has these sub dials in silver on top of snailed discs.
The asymmetric case design finds its roots in the Tonda 1950 watch and measures a very humble 40mm in diameter. The stainless steel bracelet (same for both watches) gives the Tonda Métrographe an ‘integrated’ look & feel. With ‘integrated’ we refer to watches that seem to have a case and bracelet that seems to be a one piece watch (like the Royal Oak, Nautilus, Constellation et cetera).
More information can be found on Parmigiani.ch. In the next coming days, we will provide you with some real photos of these watches of course. Also make sure to follow us on Instagram, where we will be posting the photos of the watches we get to see during the presentation straight away. Follow us @fratellowatches
