Parmigiani Fleurier × Oliver Smith Jeweler Bespoke Tonda GT And Tondagraph GT Watches
Scottsdale and Aspen-based Oliver Smith Jeweler this year celebrates forty years of being in the watch business. And what better way to get the party started than by releasing a special watch? Well, with two very special watches, of course! Enter the Parmigiani Fleurier × Oliver Smith Jeweler bespoke Tonda GT and Tondagraph GT limited editions. Twenty pieces in total reflect the jeweler’s creativity and inspiration from nature.
Reaching out to Parmigiani Fleurier to create something celebratory was a no-brainer for Oliver Smith, Founder and Creative Director at Oliver Smith Jeweler. Smith is an admirer of the creative genius that not only is a skilled restorer of antique timepieces and successful watchmaker, but also an original thinker.
A watch made in the Fleurier manufacture comes to life by using the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci sequence to get the proportions just right.
And then there’s the love of nature and the inspiration both Smith and Parmigiani treasure. A watch made in the Fleurier manufacture comes to life by using the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci sequence to get the proportions just right. And the colors used in every Parmigiani watch are meticulously selected. All that is clearly visible in both the Tonda GT and Tondagraph GT limited editions made in cooperation with Oliver Smith Jeweler.

The two limited edition, 42mm, 100m water-resistant steel watches both share rich earthy brown details on the dial. The Tonda GT and the more complicated Tondagraph GT — more “muscular” than the recently introduced Tonda PF watches that celebrate the manufacture’s 25th anniversary — have dials that are double-signed and showcase both brand logos. And there’s also an intricate clou triangulaire guilloche that showcases Parmigiani Fleurier’s artistic expertise. The open-worked Delta-shaped hands, the ergonomically teardrop-shaped lugs, and fluted bezels complete the unmistakable Parmigiani Fleurier design code. Fifteen Tonda GT watches are available and only five individually numbered Tondagraph GT models.
In-house as you would expect
As you would expect, both watches feature movements manufactured in-house. Inside the Tonda GT, beats the 42-hours power reserve PF044 automatic movement. Inside the Tondagraph GT beats the PF043 movement. This automatic28,800Vph caliber combines an annual calendar with a chronograph for a complicated, sporty, and practical high-end watch. The see-through case-back reveals the elegant Côtes de Genève decoration.
Both watches come on a steel bracelet with a folding clasp buckle, a new design from Parmigiani Fleurier first seen in last year’s Tonda GT novelties. And additionally, the watches come with an interchangeable black rubber strap. On the wrist, it’s the color that you first notice.
Full creative freedom
Since creative freedom is a core value for Michel Parmigiani, he wanted to experiment as much as he could. He went to great lengths to find the right color for the two special watches. The unique natural brown shade he ended up with is a perfect match to Parmigiani’s Pantone branding.
… the smooth, perfectly finished steel bracelet and supple rubber alternative are both very comfortable to wear.
The earthy color in both Parmigiani Fleurier × Oliver Smith Tonda GT and Tondagraph GT watches is uncommon, which enhances the bespoke nature of the celebratory timepieces. The sporty 42mm case size will sit well on most wrists. And the smooth, perfectly finished steel bracelet and supple rubber alternative are both extremely comfortable to wear.
