Geneva Watch Days – Podcast
We attended the first Geneva Watch Days event with a small portion of our team. A four-day-long watch event in Geneva, held in the fancy hotels along the lake and in some of the brand boutiques provided a welcome return to life on the road. It also provided a great opportunity to see some new watches. These are watches we had not seen earlier because of the canceled events and shows, as well as some real novelties.
In this podcast, each of us talks about our three favorite watches from Geneva Watch Days. Besides the official 16 attending brands, other brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre and Panerai also took advantage of this opportunity to show us some watches. And, we received the Omega Seamaster 300M Nekton that was introduced that week just in time for some quick hands-on impressions. We talk about that watch as well in this podcast.
Mike’s top three
The first watch Mike picks in this podcast is the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner, with a green dial. His second pick is a Panerai Submersible in 42mm (click here), available in steel and in gold. Even though Omega — just like Panerai — didn’t take part in the Geneva Watch Days, the new Seamaster 300M Nekton that was introduced that week takes a spot in Mike’s top 3. We reviewed it last weekend (click here).
RJ’s top three
RJ’s top three for this podcast includes the Moser Streamliner as well. Although the chronograph version has a beautiful movement to admire, his pick would be the three-hander as well. Second, the Bvlgari Gérald Genta Arena Bi-Retrograde Sport. A beautiful retrograde watch that we reviewed last week (click here). Last but certainly not least, the Urwerk UR-T8.
Rolex 2020 Watch News
In this podcast episode, Mike shares his opinion on the new Rolex watches, the Submariner 41, Oyster Perpetual 36 and 41 as well as the Sky-Dweller on the Oysterflex strap. While Mike is rather positive on the small — but necessary — changes, RJ is underwhelmed with the new Rolex watches. A facelift at best, that might have been necessary, but not as ground-shaking as some like to make you believe. The fact is, though, that the internet went kaput last week when Rolex did their introductions. Tune in to hear us unpack that response.
