Tudor Heritage Black Bay In Midnight Blue
Our first meeting during the Baselworld 2014 exhibition was with Tudor. We had a little sneak preview before Baselworld even opened, during a diner with Tudor. They showed us the Tudor Heritage Black Bay in a new colour, midnight blue. The bezel that is, as the dial has gone from brown (the other Heritage Black Bay execution) to matte black. This 41mm watch comes with either a stainless steel bracelet or a blue leather strap. Another possibility is to wear it on an awesome blue NATO strap. The blue color reminds us of the NAVY watches that Tudor issued to the French in the previous century. The Tudor Heritage Black Bay features the same specifications as the brown / burgundy combination that was introduced in 2012.
The Heritage Black Bay is a combination of historical Tudor Submariners from the period when they were just introduced (1954) using reference 7922 and the later period of Tudor Submariners from 1969 and onwards. For these Heritage Black Bay watches, they used characteristics such as the dial and bezel from the first series and the typical “Snowflakes” hands from the second generation of Tudor Submariners.
Part of the press kit was an interesting book that shows a lot of historical models. Not only of the Tudor Submariner watches but also from their Advisor, Prince, Oysterdate Big Block collections and so on. If you are interested in Tudor watches, we urge you to get a copy of this book.
The Tudor Heritage Black Bay in Midnight Blue will be available starting at $3100 USD. The version with the stainless steel bracelet will have a $3425 USD price tag. Both models come with the blue NATO strap.
